Great North Walk

Who attemps to walk 210 miles alone through the Australian bush in 100 degree weather? This girl. It started off as an amazing hike. The sounds and smells of the bush are enchanting. The giant eucalyptus trees and wild kangaroos...the cockatoos and rushing streams. I had 3 amazing days of hiking and camping out along the trail. The problem started late in day 3 when I started showing signs of heat exhaustion. Early on day 4 I hiked out to a road to find help. My hike was over :(.

A lady pulled over to help me and of course, when she got out of her car to throw a few things into the trunk, I attempted to enter the car on what in the United States is the passenger side. Forgetting that people drive on the other side of the road in Austrlia I was actually hoping into the driver side. The lady had a mini panick attack thinking the hitch hiker she had just pulled over to rescue was stealingher car and the baby straped into the back seat. Needless to say I wont be going on anymore 2 week long hikes by myself.
